Removal Procedure

Notice: Cap the fittings and plug the holes when servicing the fuel system in order to prevent dirt and other contaminants from entering the open pipes and passages.

Important: Always maintain cleanliness when servicing fuel system components.


    Object Number: 783454  Size: SH
  1. Drain the fuel tank. Refer to Fuel Tank Draining
  2. Remove the fuel filler door pocket. Refer to Fuel Tank Filler Pipe Housing Replacement in Body Rear End.
  3. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  4. Remove the rear wheelhouse liner panel. Refer to Rear Wheelhouse Panel Liner Replacement in Body Rear End.
  5. Loosen the fuel filler hose clamp at the fuel tank.
  6. Loosen the fuel filler hose clamp at the fuel filler pipe.
  7. Remove the fuel filler hose.

  9. Remove the fuel filler pipe attaching screw from the under body.
  10. Remove the fuel filler pipe.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 783458  Size: SH
  1. Install the fuel filler pipe.
  2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  3. Install the fuel filler pipe attaching screw to the under body.
  4. Tighten
    The fuel filler pipe attaching screw to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  5. Connect the vapor recirculation line at the fuel filler pipe.
  6. Install the fuel filler hose to the fuel tank and filler tube.
  7. Inspect and make sure filler hose is fully seated on fuel tank port, and fuel filler pipe .
  8. Make sure clamp is properly located on tank port between the bead and tank .
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the fuel tank filler pipe hose clamps to 3 N·m (27  lb in).

  10. Install the rear wheelhouse liner panel. Refer to Rear Wheelhouse Panel Liner Replacement in Body Rear End.
  11. Lower the vehicle.
  12. Install the fuel filler door pocket. Refer to Fuel Tank Filler Pipe Housing Replacement in Body Rear End.
  13. Refill the fuel tank.
  14. Tighten the fuel filler cap.
  15. Reconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection in Engine Electrical.
  16. Inspect for fuel leaks using the following procedure:
  17. 13.1. Turn ON the ignition for 2 seconds.
    13.2. Turn OFF the ignition for 10 seconds.
    13.3. Turn ON the ignition.
    13.4. Inspect for leaks.
