Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Remove the tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.

  3. Object Number: 821197  Size: SH
  4. Remove the ABS harness from the link.

  5. Object Number: 175777  Size: SH
  6. Remove the link to knuckle bolt (1), nut (5) and washer (4).
  7. Push the bolt (1) out enough to provide link removal clearance, remove the bolt to replace both links.
  8. Important: If removing a rear lateral link , scribe the Cam Bolt (2) and install in the same position.

  9. Remove the link nut (6), (8), and bolt (2),  (7), at the rear suspension support (1).
  10. Remove the lateral link (4).

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the lateral link (4) to the vehicle.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the lateral link nut (6) (8) and bolt (2) (7) at the rear suspension support (1).
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the lateral link to suspension support bolt to 100 N·m (74 lb ft).

  5. Install the link to knuckle bolt (1), the washer (4) and the nut (5).
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the lateral link to knuckle bolt to 120 N·m (89 lb ft).

  7. Install the ABS harness to the link.
  8. Install the tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
  9. Lower the vehicle.
