    • J 41239-1A Cooler Pipe Seal Installer

Removal Procedure

  1. Raise the vehicle. Support the vehicle . Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Remove the transmission oil cooler pipes from the transmission. Refer to Automatic Transmission Oil Cooler Pipes Replacement .
  3. Remove the cooler pipe bracket stud.

  4. Object Number: 643345  Size: SH
  5. Remove the oil cooler line bracket stud.

  6. Object Number: 898669  Size: SH
  7. Insert the collect piece (2) of the J 45201 into the cooler line seal.
  8. Insert the forcing screw piece J 45201 into the collet (2).
  9. Tighten the forcing screw (1) until snug.

  10. Object Number: 898677  Size: SH
  11. Thread the collar piece (1) of the J 45201 onto the collet (3) until snug.

  12. Object Number: 898715  Size: SH
  13. Using an adjustable wrench, turn the collar clockwise in order to remove the cooler t line seal.
  14. Discard the seal.
  15. Clean the case bores for the cooler line seals.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 643327  Size: SH
  1. Install the J 41239-1A on the transmission case using cooler pipe bracket stud hole.
  2. Press the new seals in. Tighten the J 41239-1A until the seal bottoms out in the case bore.

  3. Object Number: 643345  Size: SH
  4. Install the cooler pipe bracket stud.
  5. Install the transmission oil cooler pipes. Refer to Automatic Transmission Oil Cooler Pipes Replacement .
  6. Lower the vehicle.
  7. Inspect the transmission fluid level.
  8. Operate the engine for 2 or 3 minutes.
  9. Inspect the transmission fluid level. Refer to Transmission Fluid Check .
