Tools Required

1. Raise the vehicle. Support the vehicle . Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
2. Remove the transmission oil cooler pipes from the transmission. Refer to Automatic Transmission Oil Cooler Pipes Replacement .
3. Remove the cooler pipe bracket stud.



4. Remove the oil cooler line bracket stud.



5. Insert the collect piece (2) of the J 45201 into the cooler line seal.
6. Insert the forcing screw piece J 45201 into the collet (2).
7. Tighten the forcing screw (1) until snug.



8. Thread the collar piece (1) of the J 45201 onto the collet (3) until snug.



9. Using an adjustable wrench, turn the collar clockwise in order to remove the cooler t line seal.
10. Discard the seal.
11. Clean the case bores for the cooler line seals.

1. Install the J 41239-1A on the transmission case using cooler pipe bracket stud hole.
2. Press the new seals in. Tighten the J 41239-1A until the seal bottoms out in the case bore.



3. Install the cooler pipe bracket stud.
4. Install the transmission oil cooler pipes. Refer to Automatic Transmission Oil Cooler Pipes Replacement .
5. Lower the vehicle.
6. Inspect the transmission fluid level.
7. Operate the engine for 2 or 3 minutes.
8. Inspect the transmission fluid level. Refer to Transmission Fluid Check .
