Did you perform the Vehicle Diagnostic System Check?

Go to Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle

Verify that the power door locks are inoperative.

Do the power door locks operate normally?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring System

Go to Step 3

1. Install a scan tool.
2. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
3. With a scan tool, observe the door lock switch parameter in the Doors data list.

Does the scan tool display Idle?

Go to Step 4

Go to Step 8

Activate the driver door lock switch to the LOCK and UNLOCK positions.

Does the scan tool display Idle?

Go to Step 9

Go to Step 5

Activate the front passenger door lock switch to the LOCK and UNLOCK positions.

Does the scan tool display Idle?

Go to Step 9

Go to Step 6

1. With a scan tool, observe the driver door lock actuator command and the passenger door lock actuator command parameters in the Doors data list.
2. Activate a door lock switch to the LOCK and UNLOCK positions.

Does the scan tool display Idle?

Go to Step 7

1. Replace the DOOR LOCK fuse.
2. Disconnect all of the door lock actuators.
3. Activate a door lock switch to the LOCK and UNLOCK positions.

Does the DOOR LOCK fuse open?

Go to Step 11

Test the door lock lock/unlock signal circuit of the driver and passenger door lock switches for a short to ground. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 19

Test the appropriate door lock lock/unlock signal circuit for an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Test the appropriate door lock actuator control circuit for an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Test the door lock actuator control circuits for a short to ground. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Test the ground circuit of the appropriate door lock switch for an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Inspect for poor connections at the appropriate door lock actuator. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Inspect for poor connections at the appropriate door lock switch. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Inspect for poor connections at the body control module. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Replace the appropriate door lock. Refer to Front Side Door Lock Replacement or to Rear Door Lock Replacement .

Did you complete the repair?

Replace the appropriate door lock switch. Refer to Door Lock Switch Replacement - Driver Door or to Door Lock Switch Replacement - Passenger Front .

Did you complete the repair?

1. Perform the set-up procedure for the body control module. Refer to Body Control Module (BCM) Programming/RPO Configuration in Body Control System.
2. Replace the body control Module. Refer to Body Control Module Replacement in Computer/Integrating System.

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
