Circuit Description

After replacing the power steering control module (PSCM) it must be setup with the correct steering tuning.

DTC Descriptor

This procedure supports the following DTC:

DTC C0569 System Configuration Error

This vehicle has DTCs which include DTC symptoms. For more information on DTC symptoms, refer to DTC Symptom Description in Vehicle DTC Information.

Vehicle Configuration Not Programmed

Conditions for Running the DTC

The ignition is ON.

Conditions for Setting the DTC

The PSCM has not undergone the steering tuning selection procedure.

Action Taken When the DTC Sets

    • DTC C0569 46 is stored in memory.
    • The DIC displays the POWER STEERING warning message.
    • The PSCM defaults to steering tuning 1.

Conditions for Clearing the DTC

    • A current DTC will clear after the PSCM has been setup with the correct steering tuning.
    • A history DTC will clear after 100 consecutive malfunction free ignition cycles from when the PSCM has been setup.
    • Using a scan tool

Diagnostic Aids

A newly replaced PSCM will set DTC C0569 46 on its initial ignition ON cycle.

Perform the steering tuning selection procedure. Refer to Control Module Setup .

Did you complete the repair?

  1. Use the scan tool in order to clear the DTCs.
  2. Operate the vehicle within the conditions for running the DTC.

Does the DTC reset?

Go to Step 2
