Removal Procedure
Important: The window reveal molding is an applied molding
design that is separate from the window. The reveal molding may be replaced with the
window as an assembly, or the reveal molding may be available as a separate part.
The window molding can only be replaced by removing the window. The old molding can
not be reused.
- Remove the liftgate window. Refer to
Liftgate Window Replacement
.
- Place the window (1) on a clean prepared surface.
Installation Procedure
Important: Apply the window reveal moldings in an environment
that is free from dust or other dirt that could come into contact with the sticky
backing. Foreign material may cause improper adhesion.
- Clean around the edge of the inside surface of the window with a 50/50 mixture
of isopropyl alcohol and water by volume on a dampened lint free cloth.
- Using a heat gun, ensure that the temperature of the window and the reveal
molding is approximately 29-32°C (85-90°F).
- Apply masking tape around the window, 8 mm
(0.31 in) from the window edge (A), as a guide for locating the window
reveal molding.
- Remove the protective liner from the back of the window reveal moldings.
- Position the upper window reveal molding (2)
and the lower window reveal molding (3) to the location tape. Press the molding
to the mounting surface.
- Apply equal pressure along the window reveal moldings to uniformly bond
the molding to the window.
- Remove the tape from around the window.
- Install the liftgate window. Refer to
