- Remove the crankshaft position sensor heat shield nut and heat shield.
- Remove the crankshaft position sensor stud.
- Remove the crankshaft position sensor from the side of the block.
- Remove the crankshaft main bearing cap bolt and studs.
- Remove the crankshaft main bearing caps and lower crankshaft main bearing
halves.
Important: Use Care when handling the crankshaft. Avoid
damage to the crankshaft position sensor reluctor wheel teeth. Nicks, burrs or other
damage to the teeth may effect On-board Diagnostics (OBD) II system performance.
- Remove the crankshaft.
- Remove the upper crankshaft main bearing halves.
