Rocker Panel Molding Replacement Base

Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .

  2. Object Number: 827677  Size: SH
  3. Remove the rocker panel molding fasteners.
  4. Use the door trim pad clip remover to release the rocker panel retainers.
  5. Remove the rocker panel molding from the rocker.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 827677  Size: SH
  1. Position the rocker panel molding to the rocker.
  2. Press the rocker panel molding to the rocker until the retainers are fully seated.
  3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the rocker panel molding screws.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the rocker panel molding screws to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  6. Lower the vehicle.

Preliminary Procedures

  1. Open both doors on the side that the lower rocker panel molding is being removed from.
  2. The regular sedan has 8 integral clips and the extended sedan has 9 integral clips on the lower rocker molding.

Rocker Panel Integral Retainer Clip (Qty: 5)

Tip
Release the lower integral clips by pulling downward at each location prior to releasing the upper retainers from the lower rocker.

Rocker Panel Retainer (Qty: 8)

Tip
Release the upper 8 retainers from the rocker by pulling panel outward. For the extended sedan, release 9 retainers.

Lower Rocker Panel Molding

Tip

    • Both doors in the open position upon installation.
    • Start at the front end of the rocker.
    • Seat the upper retainers first.
    • Seat the lower retainers last.
    • Close both doors when finished.
