Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 1219345 Size: SH
  1. Apply tape to the corners of the adjacent surfaces.
  2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  3. Remove the push-in retainers from the rear wheelhouse liner to the rear fascia.

    4. Object Number: 1212292 Size: SH
  4. Pull back the rear wheelhouse liner and remove the push-in retainers from the quarter panel to the rear bumper fascia.

    5. Object Number: 1212294 Size: SH
  5. Open the rear compartment.
  6. Remove the push-in retainers from the rear bumper fascia center support.
  7. Remove the push-in retainers from the lower rear bumper fascia.

    8. Object Number: 1344696 Size: SH
  8. For the extended sedan only, disconnect the license lamp electrical connector.
  9. With the aid of an assistant, remove the rear bumper fascia by pulling the sides of the fascia outward to release the retainers from the rear fascia outer support.
  10. If replacing the rear bumper fascia remove the following parts:
    11. • Remove the rear energy absorber. Refer to Rear Energy Absorber Replacement .
    • For the extended sedan only, remove the license lamp. Refer to Rear License Lamp Replacement .
    • For the extended sedan only, remove the license plate.

Installation Procedure
  1. If replacing the rear bumper fascia install the following parts:
    2. • Install the rear energy absorber. Refer to Rear Energy Absorber Replacement .
    • For the extended sedan only, install the license lamp. Refer to Rear License Lamp Replacement .
    • For the extended sedan only, install the license plate.

  2. With the aid of an assistant, position the rear bumper fascia over the rear bumper impact bar. Engage the fascia locators at the quarter panel ends.
  3. Engage the fascia key slot retainers to the rear fascia outer supports. Press firmly inward to seat the fascia.

    4. Object Number: 1212294 Size: SH
  4. Install the push-in retainers to the rear bumper fascia center support.
  5. Install the push-in retainers to the lower rear bumper fascia.

    6. Object Number: 1344696 Size: SH
  6. For the extended sedan only, connect the license lamp electrical connector.
  7. Pull back the rear wheelhouse liner. Install the push-in retainer to the quarter panel to the fascia.

    8. Object Number: 1219399 Size: SH
  8. Install the push-in retainers to the wheelhouse liner to the rear bumper fascia.
  9. Remove the protective tape.
  10. Lower the vehicle.
  11. Close the rear compartment.
