Caution: With a pressurized cooling system, the coolant temperature in the radiator can be considerably higher than the boiling point of the solution at atmospheric pressure. Removal of the surge tank cap, while the cooling system is hot and under high pressure, causes the solution to boil instantaneously with explosive force. Preliminary Procedures

1. Partially drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
2. Remove the intake manifold cover. Refer to Intake Manifold Cover Replacement .

Surge Tank Inlet Hose

Procedure

Reposition the 2 surge tank hose clamps using the J 38185 .

Radiator Surge Tank Inlet Hose

Procedure

1. Using J 38185 Hose Clamp Pliers reposition the surge tank inlet hose clamps.
2. Remove the surge tank inlet hose from the surge tank and intake.
