Important: Follow the balance procedure in the order listed in the following steps. Powertrain mounts must be tightened in sequence.

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  2. Loosen, but DO NOT REMOVE the front transmission mount through bolt.

  3. Object Number: 1578542  Size: SH
  4. Loosen, but DO NOT REMOVE the rear transmission mount through bolt.
  5. Position 2 floor jacks with wood blocks under the engine and transmission to support the powertrain.

  6. Object Number: 1578543  Size: SH
  7. From inside the engine compartment, loosen the transmission mount bracket to transmission bolts.

  8. Object Number: 1774620  Size: SH
  9. Loosen the engine mount strut to engine mount strut bracket bolts (1).
  10. Reposition the floor jacks to allow a 1/8 inch gap between the engine mount and engine mount bracket.
  11. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1578543  Size: SH
  12. Tighten the transmission mount bracket to transmission bolts using the following sequence:
  13. 8.1. Rear bolt
    8.2. Middle bolt
    8.3. Front bolt

    Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).


    Object Number: 1774620  Size: SH
  14. Tighten the engine mount strut to engine mount strut bracket bolts (1).
  15. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).

  16. Remove the floor jacks.
  17. Rock the powertrain vigorously from front to rear and allow the powertrain to settle.

  18. Object Number: 1578542  Size: SH
  19. Tighten the rear transmission mount through bolt.
  20. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 90 N·m (66 lb ft).


    Object Number: 1578541  Size: SH
  21. Tighten the front transmission mount through bolt.
  22. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 90 N·m (66 lb ft).

  23. Lower the vehicle.
