Removal Procedure

Important: The window lace molding is an applied molding design that is separate from the window. The lace molding may be replaced with the window as an assembly, or the lace molding may be available as a separate part. The window molding can only be replaced by removing the window. The old molding cannot be reused.

  1. Remove the windshield. Refer to Windshield Replacement.
  2. Place the window on a clean prepared surface.

Installation Procedure

    Important: Apply the window lace moldings in an environment that is free from dust or other dirt that could come into contact with the sticky backing. Foreign material may cause improper adhesion.

  1. Clean around the edge of the inside surface of the window with a 50/50 mixture of isopropyl alcohol and water by volume on a dampened lint free cloth.
  2. Using a heat gun, ensure that the temperature of the window and the lace molding is approximately 29-32°C (85-90°F).

  4. Apply masking tape around the window, 8.5 mm (0.33 in) from the window edge (A), as a guide for locating the window lace molding.
  5. Remove the protective liner from the back of the window lace moldings.

  6. Object Number: 1358160  Size: SH
  7. Position the window lace molding to the location tape. Press the molding to the mounting surface.
  8. Apply equal pressure along the window lace moldings to uniformly bond the molding to the window.
  9. Remove the tape from around the window.
  10. Install the windshield. Refer to Windshield Replacement.
