Radiator Inlet Hose Replacement LAT

Component Name

Caution: With a pressurized cooling system, the coolant temperature in the radiator can be considerably higher than the boiling point of the solution at atmospheric pressure. Removal of the surge tank cap, while the cooling system is hot and under high pressure, causes the solution to boil instantaneously with explosive force. This will cause the solution to spew out over the engine, the fenders, and the person removing the cap. Serious bodily injury may result.

Preliminary Procedures

  1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
  2. Remove the air cleaner outlet resonator. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement .

Radiator Inlet Hose

Procedure

Reposition the 2 radiator hose clamps using the J 38185 .

Preliminary Procedure

Procedure

  1. Using J 38185 reposition the radiator inlet hose clamps.
  2. Remove the radiator inlet hose from the radiator and engine.
