Removal Procedure
  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  2. Remove the tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
  3. Using a suitable jack stand, support the knuckle.

    4. Object Number: 2013772 Size: SH
  4. Remove the lower shock absorber bolt (3) and the washer (2) from the knuckle (1).

    5. Object Number: 2013803 Size: SH
  5. Remove the upper shock mounting nuts (1).

    6. Object Number: 2013878 Size: SH
  6. Remove the shock absorber (1) from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 2013878 Size: SH
  1. Position the shock absorber (1)  in the vehicle.

    2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 2013803 Size: SH
  2. Install the upper shock absorber nuts (1).

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the upper mounting nuts  (1) to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  3. Install the lower shock absorber bolt (3) and the washer (2) in the knuckle (1).,

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the lower mounting bolt (3) to 180 N·m (133 lb ft).

  4. Remove the jack stand from the knuckle.
  5. Install the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation.
  6. Lower the vehicle.
