Part Restriction - E-67 Electronic Control Module (ECM) P/N 12607096

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

As part of our ongoing quality improvement efforts, the E-67 ECM will be placed on restriction through the PQC to assist Engineering with early product feedback. Your cooperation in this effort is greatly appreciated.

Effective Monday, March 3, 2008 the following part number will be restricted for AURA, G6, and Malibu:

P/N 12607096

Note: A number of other models will be affected by this restriction, PQC however, will only require completion of the questionnaire for AURA, G6, and Malibu models.

Important: Only complete the following questionnaire prior to contacting the PQC at 1-866-654-7654 if concerns exist on an AURA, G6, and Malibu model. E-67 ECM Questionnaire

1. Customer Concern (as it reads on the RO):
2. List all DTCs
3. Is setting the DTC(s) repeatable?
4. Is the customer concern repeatable?
5. Does the vehicle have a recent history of a low battery voltage?
6. Has the vehicle recently been jump started?
7. Has the battery recently been charged?
8. SI Document ID# used:
9. Document each step of the trouble chart (include all DVM readings):
10. Is the ECM wiring harness routed properly? Verify no stretched or pinched wiring.
11. What PIs or Service Bulletins were performed?
12. Have all engine grounds been checked?
13. Have the ECM connectors been checked for looseness or damage?
14. Controller scan code # (bar code on ECM):
15. Calibration/software ID# (from Tech2)

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
