Moan Heard From Front Of Vehicle With AC On

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Moan noise in front of vehicle when a/c system is operating. Moan noise will typically get louder as the RPM increases (usually around 2000- 2400 rpm it's the loudest)

Check that the a/s compressor mounting bolts are properly torqued (50 N.m / 37 lb ft). If these bolts were loose also check that the A/C compressor hose nut is tight (20 N.m / 15 lb ft)

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
