Rear Seat Audio Inoperative after PAL Installation

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

GM Accessory Personal Audio Link (PAL) kits are not currently compatible with 2008 Saturn Aura and Chevrolet Malibu equipped with Rear Seat Audio (RSA). Installation of a PAL kit into one of these vehicles will cause the RSA to become inoperative. Removing the kit will re-enable the RSA.

Engineering has identified the root cause and is working to correct the issue. No repair attempts should be made at this time.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
