Preliminary Procedures

1. Open and support the rear compartment lid.
2. Remove the rear compartment side trim panel in order to expose the tail lamp nuts. Refer to Rear Compartment Trim Panel Replacement .

Tail Lamp Pocket Nut (Qty: 3)

Tip
Hand tighten the nuts only.

Tail Lamp Assembly

Procedure

1. Using a blunt tool, tap gently on the tail lamp studs before attempting to remove the tail lamp assembly from the lamp pocket.
2. Pull the tail lamp assembly rearward.
3. Disconnect the bulb socket electrical connector.
4. Ensure the tail lamp studs have a gasket at the base of each stud in order to seal out any water intrusion.
5. Align the locator pins to the rear quarter outer panel upon tail lamp installation.
6. Hold lamp assembly in position and secure pocket nuts.

Tail Lamp Assembly

Warning: Refer to Halogen Bulb Warning in the Preface section.

Procedure

1. Using a blunt tool, tap gently on the tail lamp studs before attempting to remove the tail lamp assembly from the lamp pocket.
2. Pull the tail lamp assembly rearward.
3. Disconnect the tail lamp control module with bulb assembly electrical connector.

Tail Lamp Control Module with Bulb Assembly

Tip
Rotate the control module with bulb counterclockwise and remove from the tail lamp housing.
