Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 1839728 Size: SH
  1. Remove the exhaust manifold lower heat shield. Refer to Exhaust Manifold Lower Heat Shield Replacement.
  2. Disconnect the engine wiring harness electrical connector (2) from the crankshaft position (CKP) sensor.

    3. Object Number: 1311144 Size: SH
  3. Remove the crankshaft sensor bolt.
  4. Remove the crankshaft sensor.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1311144 Size: SH
  1. Install the crankshaft position sensor.

    2. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  2. Install the crankshaft position sensor bolt and tighten to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

    3. Object Number: 1839728 Size: SH
  3. Connect the engine wiring harness electrical connector (2) to the CKP sensor.
  4. Install the exhaust manifold lower heat shield. Refer to Exhaust Manifold Lower Heat Shield Replacement.
  5. Perform the Crankshaft Position System Variation Learn procedure. Refer to Crankshaft Position System Variation Learn.
