Removal Procedure
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
- Remove the tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation.
- Using a suitable jack stand, support the knuckle.
- Remove the lower shock absorber bolt (3) and the washer (2) from the knuckle (1).
- Remove the upper shock mounting nuts (1).
- Remove the shock absorber (1) from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
- Position the shock absorber (1) in the vehicle.
- Install the upper shock absorber nuts (1) and tighten to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).
- Install the lower shock absorber bolt (3) and the washer (2) in the knuckle (1). Tighten the lower mounting bolt to 180 N·m (133 lb ft).,
- Remove the jack stand from the knuckle.
- Install the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation.
- Lower the vehicle.
