J 45059 Angle Meter

Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
  2. Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation.

  3. Object Number: 2014401  Size: SH
  4. Remove the park brake cable retaining bolt (3) and the bracket (1) from the trailing arm (3).

  5. Object Number: 2014626  Size: SH
  6. Using the appropriate tool, remove the park brake cable retaining clip (2) from the trailing arm bracket (1).

  7. Object Number: 1835178  Size: SH
  8. Remove the trailing arm bracket mounting bolts.

  9. Object Number: 1835186  Size: SH
  10. Remove the bolts (1) from the trailing arm to the knuckle.

  11. Object Number: 2014719  Size: SH
  12. Remove the trailing arm and the bracket (2) from the frame (3) and the knuckle (1).

  13. Object Number: 1835218  Size: SH
  14. Remove the bolt and nut from the trailing arm bracket to the trailing arm.

Installation Procedure

    Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1835218  Size: SH
  1. Install the bolt and nut from the trailing arm bracket to the trailing arm. Tighten the trailing arm to bracket nut to 60 N·m (44 lb ft). Using the J 45059 rotate the nut an additional 60 degrees.

  2. Object Number: 2014719  Size: SH
  3. Position the trailing arm and bracket assembly (2) on the knuckle (1) and the frame (3).

  4. Object Number: 1835186  Size: SH
  5. Install the bolts (1)  from the trailing arm to the knuckle and tighten to 80 N·m (133 lb ft).

  6. Object Number: 1835178  Size: SH
  7. Install the mounting bolts for the trailing arm bracket. Tighten the mounting bolts to 60 N·m (44 lb ft). Using the J 45059 , rotate the bolt an additional 60 degrees.

  8. Object Number: 2014626  Size: SH
  9. Install the park brake cable retaining clip (2) to the trailing arm bracket (1).

  10. Object Number: 2014401  Size: SH
  11. Install the park brake cable retaining bracket (1) and the bolt (3) to the trailing arm (2). Tighten the mounting bolt to 10 N·m (89 lb in).
  12. Install the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation.
  13. Lower the vehicle.
