Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 1773399 Size: SH
  1. Remove the air cleaner outlet resonator. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Resonator Replacement .
  2. Reposition the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) hose clamp (1) at the camshaft cover.
  3. Remove the PCV hose from the camshaft cover.

    4. Object Number: 1773498 Size: SH
  4. Disconnect the engine compartment fuel feed line quick connect fitting (4) from the fuel rail. Refer to Metal Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service .
  5. Remove the engine compartment fuel line clips (2) from the fuel line bracket.
  6. Reposition the engine compartment fuel feed line out of the way.

    7. Object Number: 1773497 Size: SH
  7. Remove the fuel line bracket bolt and bracket.
  8. Remove the ignition coils. Refer to Ignition Coil Replacement .

    9. Object Number: 1773499 Size: SH
  9. Remove the engine wiring harness clips (1) from the camshaft cover.

    10. Object Number: 1773500 Size: SH
  10. Remove the camshaft cover bolts.
  11. Remove the camshaft cover.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 412147 Size: SH
  1. Transfer the oil fill cap to the NEW camshaft cover, if necessary.
  2. Install the camshaft cover.

    3. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  3. Install the camshaft cover bolts.

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  4. Install the engine wiring harness clips (1) to the camshaft cover.

    5. Object Number: 1773497 Size: SH
  5. Install the ignition coils. Refer to Ignition Coil Replacement .
  6. Install the fuel line bracket and bolt.

    7. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 10 N·m (89 lb in).


    Object Number: 1773498 Size: SH
  7. Position the engine compartment fuel feed line.
  8. Connect the engine compartment fuel feed line quick connect fitting (4) to the fuel rail. Refer to Metal Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service .
  9. Install the engine compartment fuel line clips (2) to the fuel line bracket.

    10. Object Number: 1773399 Size: SH
  10. Install the PCV hose to the camshaft cover.
  11. Position the PCV hose clamp (1) at the camshaft cover.
  12. Install the air cleaner outlet resonator. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Resonator Replacement .
