DIESEL ENGINE HEAD GASKET INFORMATION

1982 V-6 DIESEL ENGINES MAY HAVE TWO DIFFERENT MANUFACTURED HEAD GASKETS ON THE SAME ENGINE. SINCE THERE IS AN APPEARANCE DIFFERENCE SOME OWNERS MAY QUESTION WHETHER THE ENGINE HAS BEEN REPAIRED. BOTH MCCORD AND GOETZE HEAD GASKETS ARE RELEASED FOR V-6 DIESELS WITH CAST IRON HEADS. EITHER MAY BE ON A GIVEN ENGINE, MCCORD GASKETS ARE BLUE GREY IN COLOR GOETZE GASKETS ARE BROWN IN COLOR.
