WINDOWS STICK IN THE FULL UP POSITION

SUBJECT: WINDOWS STICK IN THE FULL UP POSITION (REMOVE LOWER LIP)

MODELS: 1995 CHEVROLET LUMINA, MONTE CARLO

CONDITION:

SOME CUSTOMERS MAY COMMENT THAT THEIR FRONT WINDOWS STICK IN THE FULL UP POSITION DURING COLD AMBIENT TEMPERATURES (32 DEGREES F, 0 DEGREES C AND COLDER) OR HEAVY FROST CONDITIONS.

CAUSE:

LOWER LIP OF THE OUTER BELT SEAL STRIP MAY FREEZE TO THE DOOR GLASS.

CORRECTION:

REMOVE THE LOWER LIP ON THE OUTER BELT SEAL STRIP FOLLOWING THE PROCEDURE LISTED BELOW:

PROCEDURE:

1. ROLL THE GLASS TO THE FULL DOWN POSITION.

2. REMOVE THE REAR RETAINING SCREW, SEE FIGURE 1.

3. LIFT THE REAR PORTION OF THE MOLDING UPWARD AND REMOVE THE MOLDING FROM THE DOOR.

4. LAY THE MOLDING ON A FLAT SURFACE AND REMOVE THE LOWER LIP USING A UTILITY KNIFE OR OTHER SUITABLE TOOL BLADE, SEE FIGURE 1 FOR LOCATION ON LIP REMOVAL.

5. REINSTALL THE OUTER BELT SEAL STRIP AND RETAINING SCREW.

FOR VEHICLES REPAIRED UNDER WARRANTY, USE: LABOR OPERATION: B7850 (RIGHT SIDE) B7851 (LEFT SIDE) USE PUBLISHED LABOR OPERATION TIME.
