Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the case side cover pan. Refer to Control Valve Body Cover Replacement .
  2. Remove the pump. Refer to Oil Pump Replacement .

  3. Object Number: 99924  Size: SH
  4. Remove the valve body bolts.
  5. Remove the valve body.

  6. Object Number: 99925  Size: SH
  7. Keep the spacer plate with the transmission.
  8. Remove the spacer plate.
  9. Remove the gasket.

Installation Procedure

Notice: Use J 36850 or equivalent during assembly in order to retain checkballs or to lubricate components. Lubricants other than the recommended assembly lube changes the transmission fluid characteristics and causes undesirable shift conditions or filter clogging.

  1. Retain the checkballs in their proper location with Transjel J 36850 .

  2. Object Number: 99925  Size: SH
  3. Install the spacer plate.
  4. Install the gasket.

  5. Object Number: 99915  Size: SH
  6. Install the valve body.
  7. Install the gasket.
  8. Install the valve body bolts.
  9. Tighten

        • Tighten the valve body to case bolts to 24 N·m (18 lb ft).
        • Tighten the remaining bolts to 11 N·m (97 lb in).

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  10. Do not use impact type tools on the valve or the pump.
  11. Install the pump. Refer to Oil Pump Replacement .

  13. Install the case side cover pan. Refer to Control Valve Body Cover Replacement .
  14. Adjust the fluid level.
