Engine Mount Replacement Left Side

Removal Procedure

Tools Required

    • J 28467-360 Engine Support Fixture
    • J 28467-90 Engine Support Fixture Adapters
    • J 36462 Engine Support Adapter Leg
    • J 35953 Engine Support Foot Modification
  1. Remove the hood panel. Refer to Body Front End.
  2. Remove the air cleaner duct. Refer to Engine Controls.
  3. Remove the engine mount strut. Refer to Engine Mount Strut Replacement .
  4. Remove the electric engine cooling fan. Refer to Cooling and Radiator.
  5. Install the J 28467-360 .
  6. Install the J 28467-90 .
  7. Install the J 36462 .
  8. Install the J 35953 .
  9. Raise the vehicle. Suitably support the vehicle. Refer to General Information.
  10. Remove the right front tire and the right front wheel assembly. Refer to Tires and Wheels.
  11. Remove the right engine splash shield. Refer to Body Front End.

  13. Remove the oil filter.

  14. Object Number: 57216  Size: SH
  15. Remove the engine mount nuts at the frame.

  16. Object Number: 58484  Size: SH
  17. Remove the engine mount nuts at the bracket.
  18. Install the drive axle boot protector. Refer to Drive Axle.
  19. Lower the vehicle.
  20. Raise the engine.
  21. Raise the vehicle. Suitable support the vehicle. Refer to General Information.
  22. Remove the front engine mount.

Installation Procedure

Tools Required

  1. Install the front engine mount.
  2. Lower the vehicle.
  3. Lower the engine.
  4. Raise the vehicle. Suitable support the vehicle. Refer to General Information.
  5. Remove the drive axle boot protector. Refer to Drive Axle.

  7. Install the engine mount nuts at the bracket.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the engine mount nuts to 43 N·m (32 lb ft).

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  9. Install the engine mount nuts at the frame.
  10. Tighten
    Tighten the engine mount nuts to 43 N·m (32 lb ft).

  11. Install the oil filter.
  12. Install the right engine splash shield. Refer to Body Front End.
  13. Install the right front tire and the right front wheel assembly. Refer to Tires and Wheels.
  14. Lower the vehicle.
  15. Install the electric engine cooling fan. Refer to Cooling and Radiator.
  16. Remove the J 28467-360 .
  17. Remove the J 28467-90 .
  18. Remove the J 36462 .
  19. Remove the J 35953 .
  20. Install the engine mount strut. Refer to Engine Mount Strut Replacement .
  21. Install the air cleaner duct. Refer to Engine Controls.
  22. Install the hood panel. Refer to Body Front End.

Engine Mount Replacement Right Side

Removal Procedure

Tools Required

  1. Remove the hood panel. Refer to Body Front End.
  2. Remove the air cleaner duct. Refer to Engine Controls.
  3. Disconnect the engine mount strut at the engine. Refer to Engine Mount Strut Replacement .
  4. Remove the electric engine cooling fan. Refer to Cooling and Radiator.
  5. Install the J 28467-360 .
  6. Install the J 28467-90 .
  7. Install the J 36462 .
  8. Install the J 35953 .
  9. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to General Information.
  10. Remove the right front tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tires and Wheels.
  11. Loosen the right engine splash shield. Refer to Body Front End.
  12. Remove the drive axle plastic splash shield. Refer to Drive Axle.
  13. Install the drive axle boot protector. Refer to Drive Axle.
  14. Remove the right ball joint at the control arm. Refer to Front Suspension.
  15. Remove the right drive axle steel shield. Refer to Drive Axle.
  16. Remove the right drive axle from the transaxle. Refer to Drive Axle.
  17. Disconnect the front exhaust pipe from the exhaust manifold. Refer to Exhaust System.

  19. Remove the engine mount retaining nuts.
  20. Lower the vehicle.
  21. Raise the engine.
  22. Raise the vehicle. Suitably support the vehicle. Refer to General Information.
  23. Remove the engine mount.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the engine mount.
  2. Lower the vehicle.
  3. Lower the engine.
  4. Install the J 28467-360 .
  5. Install the J 28467-90 .
  6. Install the J 36462 .
  7. Install the J 35953 .
  8. Raise the vehicle. Suitable support the vehicle. Refer to General Information.

  10. Install the engine mount retaining nuts.
  11. Tighten

    1. Tighten the engine mount retaining nuts to the frame 43 N·m (32 lb ft).
    2. Tighten the engine mount retaining nuts to the bracket 47 N·m (35 lb ft).

  13. Install the right drive axle. Refer to Drive Axle.
  14. Install the right drive axle shield. Refer to Drive Axle.
  15. Connect the right ball joint to the control arm. Refer to Front Suspension.
  16. Remove the drive axle boot protector. Refer to Drive Axle.
  17. Install the drive axle plastic splash shield. Refer to Drive Axle.
  18. Install the right engine splash shield. Refer to Body Front End.
  19. Install the right front tire and the right front wheel assembly. Refer to Tires and Wheels.
  20. Lower the vehicle.
  21. Install the electric engine cooling fan assemblies. Refer to Cooling and Radiator.
  22. Connect the engine mount strut to the engine. Refer to Engine Mount Strut Replacement .
  23. Install the air cleaner duct. Refer to Engine Controls.
  24. Install the hood panel assembly. Refer to Body Front End.
