Incorrect trim heights can produce symptoms similar to
wheel misalignment. Check the trim heights whenever diagnosing steering and
vibration concerns. Refer to
Trim Height Specifications
in this section.
Observe the following conditions to accurately measure the trim height:
• | Ensure the tires are inflated to the correct pressure. Refer to
Tire Placard

• | Ensure the fuel tank is full. |
• | Ensure the coolant is full to capacity. |
• | Ensure the vehicle has no additional weight or passengers. |
• | Position the front seat in the rearward position. |
• | Empty the rear compartment, except for the spare tire and the
jack (and a simulated fuel load, if required). |
• | Position the vehicle on a known level floor. |
• | Close all the doors, the hood, and the rear compartment lid. |
