Removal Procedure

Tools Required

J 6627-A Wheel Bolt Remover

  1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
  3. Remove the brake caliper and mounting bracket. Refer to Brake Caliper Bracket Replacement in Front Disc Brakes.
  4. Remove the brake rotor. Refer to Front Brake Rotor Replacement in Front Disc Brakes.

  5. Object Number: 144028  Size: SH
  6. Use the J 6627-A in order to extract the bolt from the hub.
  7. Clean the wheel hub flange and clean the rotor of any corrosion, metal chips or foreign material.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 8939  Size: SH
  1. Install new wheel stud.
  2. Add enough washers to draw the bolt into the hub.
  3. Install the wheel nut with the flat side against the washers.
  4. Important: Fully seat the wheel bolt against the hub flange.

  5. Tighten the wheel nut until the wheel bolt is fully seated against the hub flange.
  6. Remove the wheel nut.
  7. Remove the washers.
  8. Install the brake caliper. Refer to Front Brake Rotor Replacement in Front Disc Brakes.
  9. Install the brake caliper and mounting bracket. Refer to Brake Caliper Bracket Replacement in Front Disc Brakes.
  10. Install the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
  11. Lower the vehicle.
