Removal Procedure
The rear wheel hub and bearing are non-serviceable. If either one is
damaged, you must replace the complete hub and bearing assembly.

Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
in General Information.
- Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to
Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation
in Tires
and Wheels.
- Remove one of the following components:
- Disconnect the rear wheel speed sensor harness and the electrical
connector. Refer to
Wheel Speed Sensor Replacement
in Antilock Brake System.

hub and bearing mounting bolts (2).
- Remove the rear wheel hub (3) and bearing from the knuckle (1).
Installation Procedure
- Install the rear wheel
hub (3) and the bearing to the knuckle (1).
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the rear
wheel hub and bearing mounting bolts (2).
Tighten
Tighten the rear wheel hub mounting bolts to 70 N·m (52 lb ft).
- Connect the rear wheel speed sensor harness and electrical connector.
Refer to
Wheel Speed Sensor Replacement
in Antilock Brake System.
