DTC C1286 is an information only DTC. DTC C1286 reflects the status of the command the EBCM issues to illuminate the red BRAKE warning indicator. If another DTC issues a command to illuminate the red BRAKE warning indicator, EEPROM will store DTC C1286 as a history DTC at the conclusion of the ignition cycle.
