Makes 🢒 Chevrolet 🢒 1998 🢒 Monte Carlo 🢒 Steering 🢒 Steering Wheel and Column - Tilt 🢒 Steering Wheel Inflator Module Replacement

Removal Procedure
  1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System .

    2. Object Number: 280879 Size: MH
  2. Remove the two screws from the back of the inflatable restraint steering wheel module using the #30 torx® driver or equivalent.
  3. Remove the inflator module from the steering wheel.
  4. Remove the connector position assurance (CPA).
  5. Disconnect the inflatable restraint steering wheel module yellow 2-way connector from the SIR steering wheel coil yellow 2-way connector.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 280879 Size: MH
  1. Connect the inflatable restraint steering wheel module yellow 2-way connector to the SIR steering wheel coil yellow 2-way connector.
  2. Install the connector position assurance (CPA).
  3. Secure the SIR steering wheel coil yellow 2-way connector to the steering wheel by inserting the thick section of the wire into the existing retainers.
  4. Position the inflatable restraint steering wheel module to the steering wheel.
  5. Tighten the two screws on the back of the inflatable restraint steering wheel module using the #30 torx® driver or equivalent.

    6. Tighten
    Tighten screws to 3 N·m (25 lb in).

  6. Enable the SIR system. Refer to Enabling the SIR System .
