Steering Column Lock Cylinder Set - Assemble - Off Vehicle Floor Shift

Assembly Procedure


    Object Number: 343829  Size: SH
  1. Install the steering column lock cylinder set (1) to the lock housing cover and sleeve assembly following these steps:
  2. Important: Use care not to damage the wires when pushing through the lock housing cover and sleeve assembly.

    1.1. Push the terminal of pass key wire harness (5) through the lock housing cover and sleeve assembly.
    1.2. Install the steering column lock cylinder set (1) into the lock housing cover and sleeve assembly.
    1.3. Install the retaining clip (4).
    1.4. Install the terminal pass key wire harness (5) to the vehicle wire harness.
    1.5. Install the lock retaining screw (2).

    Tighten
    Tighten the lock retaining screw 2.5 N·m (22 lb in).

    1.6. Insert the key into the steering column lock cylinder set (1).
    1.7. Put the key in the normal position.
    1.8. Install the buzzer switch assembly (3).
    1.9. Reinsert the key into the steering column lock cylinder set (1).
  3. Install the turn signal switch assembly. Refer to Turn Signal and Multifunction Switch Assembly - Assemble - Off Vehicle .

Assembly Procedure

  1. Install the steering column lock cylinder set (1) to the lock housing cover and sleeve assembly following these steps:
  2. Important: Use care not to damage the wires when pushing through the lock housing cover and sleeve assembly.

    1.1. Push the terminal of pass key wire harness (5) through the lock housing cover and sleeve assembly.
    1.2. Install the steering column lock cylinder set (1) into the lock housing cover and sleeve assembly.
    1.3. Install the retaining clip (4).
    1.4. Install the terminal pass key wire harness (5) to the vehicle wire harness.

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

    1.5. Install the lock retaining screw (2).

    Tighten
    Tighten the lock retaining screw 2.5 N·m (22 lb in).

    1.6. Insert the key into the steering column lock cylinder set (1).
    1.7. Put the key in the normal position.
    1.8. Install the buzzer switch assembly (3).
    1.9. Reinsert the key into the steering column lock cylinder set (1).
  3. Install the turn signal switch assembly. Refer to Turn Signal and Multifunction Switch Assembly - Assemble - Off Vehicle .
