Did you perform the Audible Alarms System Check?

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
  2. Disconnect the seat belt/ ignition key/ lamps alarm.
  3. Ensure the key is in the ignition switch.
  4. Open the Driver's door.
  5. Probe between B+ and seat belt/ ignition key/ lamps alarm connector terminal C1.

Is the test light on?

Backprobe between B+ and C201 terminal A9 using a test light.

Is the test light on?

Measure the resistance between the seat belt/ ignition key/ lamps alarm harness connector terminal C1 and C201 terminal A8 with the J 39200 digital multimeter (DMM).

Is the resistance less than the specified value?

2ohms

Go to Step 8

Measuring the resistance between the following components with the J 39200 DMM:

    • The ignition key warning switch harness connector terminal A9
    • The LF doorlock harness connector terminal C

Is the resistance less than the value specified?

2ohms

Measuring the resistance between the following components with the J 39200 DMM:

    • The LF doorlock harness connector terminal D
    • The ground

Is the resistance less than the value specified?

2ohms

  1. Inspect the seat belt/ ignition key/ lamps alarm connector terminal C1 for a poor connection.
  2. Replace the seat belt/ ignition key/ lamps alarm connectors as needed. Refer to Multifunction Alarm Module Replacement .

  1. Inspect the following connectors for a poor connection:
  2. • The C201 terminal A8
    • The C201 terminal A9
  3. Replace the ignition key warning switch if the connections are OK. Refer to Steering Column Lock Cylinder Set - Disassemble (Floor Shift).

Repair a poor connection or an open in CKT 80.

Has the repair been made?

Repair a poor connection or an open in CKT 159.

Has the repair been made?

  1. Inspect the LF doorlock switch electrical connector for poor terminal contact.
  2. Replace the LF doorlock switch if the connector is OK. Refer to Front Side Door Lock Replacement in Doors.

Repair a poor connection or an open in CKT 750.

  1. Ensure the ignition switch is in the LOCK position.
  2. Reinstall the removed connectors/components.
