Removal Procedure
- Remove the steering column opening filler panel screws.
- Remove the instrument panel (IP) cluster trim plate. Refer to
Instrument Cluster Replacement
.
- Remove the screws (4)
from the accessory switch.
- Disconnect the electrical connectors.
- Remove the accessory switch (3) from the IP cluster trim plate.
Installation Procedure
- Install the accessory
switch (3) to the instrument panel (IP) cluster trim plate.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the accessory
switch screws (4).
Tighten
Tighten the accessory switch screws to 2 N·m (18 lb in).
- Connect the electrical connectors.
- Install the instrument panel cluster trim plate. Refer to
Instrument Cluster Replacement
.
- Install and finger tighten the IP steering column opening filler
panel screws.
Tighten
- Tighten the right IP steering column opening filler screw first
in order to properly install the IP steering column opening filler panel.
Tighten the right IP steering column opening filler panel screw to 1.9 N·m
(17 lb in).
- Tighten the left IP steering column opening filler panel screw
to 1.9 N·m (17 lb in).
