Cruise Control Cable Replacement 3.1L

Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 294519 Size: SH
  1. Disconnect the cruise control cable adjuster lock.
  2. Rotate the cruise control cable counterclockwise.

    3. Remove the cruise control cable from the cruise control module.

  3. Remove the cruise control cable from the cruise control module strap.

    4. Object Number: 294522 Size: SH
  4. Remove the cruise control cable from the cruise control cable retainers.
  5. Remove the cruise control cable from the throttle lever and the accelerator control cable bracket.

    6. Object Number: 12734 Size: SH
  6. Remove the cruise control cable from the engine.

Installation Procedure
  1. Install the cruise control cable to the engine.

    2. Object Number: 12734 Size: SH
  2. Position the cruise control cable to the engine.

    3. Object Number: 294522 Size: SH
  3. Install the cruise control cable to the cruise control retainers.
  4. Install the cruise control cable to the throttle lever and the accelerator control cable bracket.

    5. Object Number: 12717 Size: SH
  5. Install the cruise control cable to the cruise control module strap.

    6. Object Number: 294519 Size: SH

    Important: Ensure the cruise control module strap is not twisted during installation of the cruise control cable.

  6. Rotate the cruise control cable clockwise.

    7. Install the cruise control cable to the cruise control module.


    Object Number: 12734 Size: SH
  7. Adjust the cruise control cable. Refer to Cruise Control Cable Adjustment .

Cruise Control Cable Replacement 3.8L

Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 319387 Size: SH
  1. Remove the cruise control cable from the throttle lever and the accelerator control cable bracket.
  2. Remove the cruise control cable from the cruise control cable retainers.

    3. Object Number: 294519 Size: SH
  3. Rotate the cruise control cable counterclockwise.
  4. Remove the cruise control cable from the cruise control module.

    5. Object Number: 12717 Size: SH
  5. Remove the cruise control cable from the cruise control module strap.

    6. Object Number: 294511 Size: SH
  6. Remove the cruise control cable from the engine.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 294519 Size: SH
  1. Position the cruise control cable to the engine.

    2. Object Number: 319387 Size: SH
  2. Install the cruise control cable to the throttle lever and the accelerator control cable bracket.
  3. Install the cruise control cable to the cruise control retainers.

    4. Object Number: 12717 Size: SH
  4. Install the cruise control cable to the cruise control module strap.

    5. Object Number: 294519 Size: SH

    Important: Ensure the cruise control module strap is not twisted during installation of the cruise control cable.

  5. Rotate the cruise control cable clockwise.

    6. Install the cruise control cable to the cruise control module.

  6. Adjust the cruise control cable. Refer to Cruise Control Cable Adjustment
