Maintenance Schedule Engine Oil Change Intervals
This vehicle is equipped with an engine oil life monitor. The engine
oil life monitor will show when to change the engine oil and oil filter. This
will usually occur between 5 000 km (3,000 miles) and
12 500 km (7,500 miles) since the last oil change.
Under severe conditions, the indicator may come on before 5 000 km
(3,000 miles).
The vehicle MUST NOT be driven more than 12 500 km (7,500 miles)
or 12 months without an oil and oil filter change.
The engine oil life monitor will not detect dust in the oil. If the
vehicle is driven in a dusty area, be sure to change the oil and oil filter
every 5 000 km (3,000 miles) or sooner if the CHANGE
OIL indicator is illuminated.
Be sure to reset the engine oil life monitor when the oil has been changed.
For the engine oil life monitor resetting procedure, refer to
Oil Life Monitor Resetting
.
Footnotes
† The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency or the California
Air Resources Board has determined that the failure to perform this maintenance
item will not nullify the emission warranty or limit recall liability prior
to the completion of the vehicle's useful life. We, however, urge that all
recommended maintenance services be performed at the indicated intervals
and the maintenance be recorded.
