Power Steering Return Hose Replacement 3.8L

1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
2. Place a drain pan under the vehicle in order to catch any draining power steering fluid.
3. Remove the tire and wheel assembly.Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tire and Wheels.



4. Remove the power steering return hose from the power steering gear cooler pipe.



5. Remove the power steering return hose from the power steering pump.
6. Remove the power steering return hose from the power steering hose retainer.
7. Remove the power steering return hose.

1. Install the power steering return hose.
2. Install the power steering return hose to power steering the hose retainer.



3. Install the power steering return hose to the power steering pump.



4. Install the power steering return hose to the power steering gear cooler pipe.
5. Install the tire and wheel assembly.Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tire and Wheels.
6. Remove the drain pan from under the vehicle.
7. Lower the vehicle.
8. Fill the power steering fluid reservoir. Refer to Refilling the Power Steering System .
9. Bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding .
10. Inspect the power steering system for leaks. Refer to External Leakage Check

Power Steering Return Hose Replacement 3.1L

1. Remove the accessory drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement in Engine Mechanical-3.1L.
2. Place the drain pan under the vehicle in order to catch any draining power steering fluid.



3. Remove the power steering return hose from the power steering pump (2).
4. Remove the power steering return line from the power steering lines retainer (6).
5. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.



6. Remove the power steering return hose from the power steering gear cooler pipe.

1. Install the power steering return hose to the power steering gear cooler pipe.
2. Remove the drain pan from under the vehicle.
3. Lower the vehicle.
4. Install the power steering return line to the power steering lines retainer (6).



5. Install the power steering return hose to the power steering pump (2).
6. Install the accessory drive belt.Refer to Drive Belt Replacement in Engine Mechanical-3.1L.
7. Fill the power steering fluid reservoir. Refer to Refilling the Power Steering System .
8. Bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding .
9. Inspect the power steering system for leaks. Refer to External Leakage Check
