Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the I/P cluster trim plate. Refer to Instrument Cluster Trim Panel Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.

  2. Object Number: 417249  Size: SH
  3. Remove the retaining bolt from the HVAC control assembly.
  4. Release the retaining clips to remove the control assembly from the instrument panel.

  5. Object Number: 417250  Size: SH
  6. Disconnect the electrical connector(s) and if equipped the vacuum connector from the HVAC control assembly.
  7. Remove the HVAC control assembly.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 417250  Size: SH
  1. Connect the electrical connector(s) and if equipped the vacuum connector to the HVAC control assembly.

  2. Object Number: 417249  Size: SH
  3. Install the HVAC control assembly into the instrument panel.
  4. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Install the retaining bolt to secure the HVAC control assembly.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the control assembly bolt to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  7. Install the I/P cluster trim plate. Refer to Instrument Cluster Trim Panel Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
