Brake Caliper Bracket Replacement Front

Removal Procedure

Tools Required

J 36721 Front Caliper Bracket Torx Bit

  1. Remove the caliper. Refer to Front Brake Caliper Replacement .

  2. Object Number: 481942  Size: SH
  3. Remove the caliper mounting bracket bolts (1) using the J 36721 .
  4. Remove the caliper mounting bracket.

  5. Object Number: 177063  Size: SH
  6. Remove the bushings from the mounting bracket.
  7. Inspect the bracket for cracks. Replace the bracket if necessary.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 177063  Size: SH

    Caution: These fasteners MUST be replaced with new fasteners anytime they become loose or are removed. Failure to replace these fasteners after they become loose or are removed may cause loss of vehicle control and personal injury.

  1. Lubricate the new bushings (2) with silicone grease.

  2. Object Number: 176939  Size: SH
  3. Install the bushings (2) into the anchor bracket (1).

  4. Object Number: 481942  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Install the caliper mounting bracket with the mounting bolts (1) using the J 36721 .
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the caliper bracket mounting bolts to 200 N·m (148 lb ft).

  7. Install the caliper. Refer to Front Brake Caliper Replacement .

Brake Caliper Bracket Replacement Rear

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 481942  Size: SH
  1. Remove the caliper. Refer to Rear Brake Caliper Replacement .
  2. Remove the rotor.
  3. Remove the caliper mounting bracket bolts (1).
  4. Remove the caliper mounting bracket.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 481942  Size: SH

    Caution: These fasteners MUST be replaced with new fasteners anytime they become loose or are removed. Failure to replace these fasteners after they become loose or are removed may cause loss of vehicle control and personal injury.

  1. Install the caliper mounting bracket.

  3. Install the caliper mounting bracket bolts (1).
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the caliper mounting bracket bolts (1) to 110 N·m (81 lb ft).

  5. Install the rotor.
  6. Install the caliper. Refer to Rear Brake Caliper Replacement .
