Heater Inlet Pipe Replacement 3.4L
Removal Procedure
Tools Required
J 38185 Hose Clamp
Pliers
- Drain the cooling system. Refer to
Cooling System Draining and Filling
in Engine Cooling.
- Remove the air cleaner and duct assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement
in Engine Controls - 3.4L.
- Disconnect the inlet hose (3)
from the inlet pipe.
- Use J 38185
in order to position aside the heater hose inlet clamp.
- Remove the inlet pipe
mounting nut.
- Remove the inlet pipe.
Installation Procedure
- Install the inlet pipe.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the inlet
pipe mounting nut.
Tighten
Tighten the heater inlet pipe nut to 7 N·m (62 lb in).
- Connect the inlet hose
(3) to the inlet pipe.
- UseJ 38185
in order to position the heater hose inlet clamp.
- Install the air cleaner and duct assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement
in Engine Controls - 3.4L.
- Refill the cooling system. Refer to
Cooling System Draining and Filling
in Engine Cooling.
