Exhaust System Inspection for Chevrolet Monte Carlo 2000

1. Inspect the general condition of the following components whenever you raise the vehicle for service:

•	The catalytic converter

•	The exhaust pipes

•	The muffler

2. Inspect the underbody clearances in order to prevent overheating of the floor pan and possible damage to the passenger compartment insulation and trim materials.
3. Inspect the exhaust system for the following conditions:

•	Abnormal wear

•	Visual damage or misalignment

•	Open seams

•	Loose connections

•

Holes

•	Any other deterioration that could permit exhaust fumes to enter the passenger compartment
