    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  1. Install the exhaust manifold studs.
  2. Tighten
    Tighten the exhaust manifold studs to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  3. Install the exhaust manifold gasket.
  4. Install the exhaust manifold.
  5. Install the exhaust manifold bolts and nuts.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the exhaust manifold bolts and nuts to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).

  7. Install the right side spark plugs.
  8. Tighten

        • Tighten the spark plugs to 27 N·m (20 lb ft) when installing the spark plugs in to a new cylinder head.
        • Tighten the spark plugs to 15 N·m (13 lb ft) when re-installing the spark plugs after initial installation.

  9. Install the fuel injector sight shield cover bracket.
  10. Install the fuel injector sight shield cover bracket nuts.
  11. Tighten
    Tighten the fuel injector sight shield bracket nuts to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).

  12. Install the right engine lift hook.
  13. Install the right engine lift hook nut and bolt.
  14. Tighten
    Tighten the right engine lift hook nut and bolt to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).

  15. Coat the threads of the heated oxygen sensor with anti-seize compound.
  16. Install the heated oxygen sensor.
  17. Tighten
    Tighten the heated oxygen sensor to 42 N·m (31 lb ft).

  18. Install the heated oxygen sensor lead.
