Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection in Engine Electrical.

  2. Object Number: 681089  Size: SH
  3. Disconnect the positive battery cables from the underhood fuse block terminals.
  4. Remove the tape from the wiring harness at the base of the underhood fuse block base.

  5. Object Number: 681080  Size: SH
  6. Release the underhood fuse block(s) clip retainers using a small flat-bladed tool.

  7. Object Number: 681072  Size: SH
  8. Remove the fuse block(s) and wiring harness lifting up from the base and reposition from the base.

  9. Object Number: 681089  Size: SH
  10. Remove the nuts from the underhood fuse block base.
  11. Remove the underhood fuse block base from the shock tower.

  12. Object Number: 681060  Size: SH
  13. Remove the underhood fuse block lower front terminal positive assurance retainers using a small flat-bladed tool.

  14. Object Number: 681070  Size: SH
  15. Remove the plastic shields from the battery cable and buss bar terminals, using a small flat-bladed tool to release the clip retainer.

  17. Remove the bolts from the buss bar jumper bar.

  18. Object Number: 681078  Size: SH
  19. Remove the buss bar jumper bar from the fuse block(s).

  21. Remove the fuses from the fuse block(s) to access the buss bar terminal release tabs.

  22. Object Number: 681065  Size: SH
  23. Remove the buss bar(s) from the fuse block(s) using a terminal releasing tool, and pulling down and out on the buss bar.

  25. Remove the buss bar(s) from the fuse block(s).

  26. Object Number: 682230  Size: SH
  27. Release the clip retainers from the underhood fuse block(s) battery cable and buss bar terminals using a small flat-bladed tool.

  28. Object Number: 682232  Size: SH
  29. Remove the underhood fuse block(s) battery cable and buss bar terminals from the fuse block by pulling down.
  30. Remove the fuse block and lamp wiring harness from the vehicle, if required.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 682232  Size: SH
  1. Install the underhood fuse block(s) battery cable and buss bar terminals to the fuse block(s) by sliding up into place until fully seated.

  2. Object Number: 681062  Size: SH
  3. Install the buss bar(s) to the fuse block(s) pressing into place until fully seated.

  4. Object Number: 681056  Size: SH
  5. Position the underhood fuse block terminal positive assurance retainers to the fuse block(s).

  6. Object Number: 681067  Size: SH
  7. Install the underhood fuse block(s) terminal positive assurance retainers pressing into place until fully seated.

  8. Object Number: 681061  Size: SH
  9. Install the fuses to the fuse block(s) that were removed to access the buss bar terminal release tabs.

  10. Object Number: 681078  Size: SH
  11. Install the buss bar jumper bar to the fuse block(s).
  12. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  13. Install the bolts to the buss bar jumper bar.
  14. Tighten
    Tighten the jumper bar bolts to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

  15. Install the plastic shields to the battery cable and buss bar terminals pressing into place until fully seated.

  16. Object Number: 681072  Size: SH
  17. Position the underhood fuse block(s) to the underhood fuse block base retaining locks.

  18. Object Number: 681074  Size: SH
  19. Install the underhood fuse block(s) into the underhood fuse block base retaining locks pressing in until fully seated.
  20. Install new tape to the wiring harness at the base of the underhood fuse block base.

  21. Object Number: 681089  Size: SH
  22. Position the underhood fuse block base to the shock tower.
  23. Install the nuts to the underhood fuse block base.
  24. Tighten
    Tighten the fuse block base nuts to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

  25. Install the positive battery cables to the underhood fuse block.
  26. Tighten
    Tighten the positive battery cables nuts to 15 N·m (11 lb ft).

  27. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection in Engine Electrical.
