Removal Procedure
- Remove the screw from the front of the console.
- Use a small, flat-bladed tool in order to release the 2 retainers. Press the retainers to the side to release the assembly.
- Remove the overhead console from the headliner.
- Disconnect the electrical connectors from the overhead console.
- Remove the overhead console from the vehicle.
- Remove the screws from the drivers information center module.
- Remove the drivers information center module from the overhead console.
Important: The overhead console retainers are located on the switch side of the assembly.
Installation Procedure
- Install the drivers information center module to the overhead console.
- Install the drivers information center module screws.
- Apply foam tape to the wiring harness at the headliner.
- Connect the electrical connector to the overhead console.
- Position the overhead console to the mounting bracket in the headliner.
- Install the overhead console pressing into place to fully seat the retainers (1).
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
Tighten
Tighten the screws to 2 N·m (18 lb in).
Important: When installing the overhead console, apply a foam type tape to the wiring harness to relocate and secure the wiring harness in the proper position to the headliner.
