Removal Procedure
- Raise and support
the vehicle. Refer to
Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
in General Information.
- Remove the rear tires and wheels. Refer to
Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation
in Tires and Wheels.
- Remove the rocker panel to rear wheelhouse liner screw.
- Remove the quarter panel to rear wheelhouse liner screws.
- Remove the lower quarter panel to rear wheelhouse liner screw.
- Using J 38778
remove the lower quarter panel to rear wheelhouse liner push-in retainer.
- Remove the rear wheelhouse liner to rear wheelhouse palnuts.
- Remove the rear wheelhouse liner from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
- Align the rear wheelhouse
liner to the rear wheelhouse.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the rear wheelhouse liner to rear wheelhouse palnuts.
Tighten
Tighten the rear wheelhouse liner to rear wheelhouse palnuts to 2 N·m
(18 lb in).
- Install the lower quarter panel to rear wheelhouse liner push-in
retainer.
- Install the lower quarter panel to rear wheelhouse liner screw.
Tighten
Tighten the lower quarter panel to rear wheelhouse liner screw to 2 N·m
(18 lb in).
- Install the quarter panel to rear wheelhouse liner screws.
Tighten
Tighten the quarter panel to rear wheelhouse liner screws to 2 N·m
(18 lb in).
- Install the rocker panel to rear wheelhouse liner screw.
Tighten
Tighten the rocker panel to rear wheelhouse liner screw to 2 N·m
(18 lb in).
- Install the rear tires and wheels. Refer to
Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation
in General Information.
- Lower the vehicle.
