Fuel Tank Filler Pipe Housing Replacement Impala

1. Open the fuel filler door.
2. Remove the fuel filler cap.
3. Remove the bolts from the fuel filler pocket at the fuel filler neck.



4. Remove the bolts from the fuel filler pocket.
5. Remove the fuel filler pocket.

1. Install the fuel filler pocket to the fuel filler neck.
2. Press until the pocket is fully seated.

Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

3. Install the fuel filler neck bolts.

Tighten
Tighten the fuel filler neck bolts to 5 N·m (44 lb in).




4. Install the fuel filler pocket bolts.

Tighten
Tighten the fuel filler pocket bolts to 5 N·m (44 lb in).

5. Replace the fuel filler cap.
6. Close the fuel filler door.

Fuel Tank Filler Pipe Housing Replacement Monte Carlo

1. Open the fuel filler door.
2. Remove the fuel filler cap.
3. Remove the bolts from the fuel filler pocket at the fuel filler neck.



4. Apply tape to the opening around the fuel filler pocket.
5. Remove the fuel filler pocket using a small flat-bladed tool, pressing down and out from the top edge of the fuel filler pocket.

1. Install the fuel filler pocket to the fuel filler neck by pressing it into place until fully seated.
