- Install the upper intake manifold gaskets.
- Install the upper intake manifold.
- Install the upper intake manifold bolts and studs. Apply threadlock GM P/N 12345382 (Canadian P/N 10953489) to the threads.
- Install the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve pipe and bolt to the EGR.
- Install the EGR valve.
- Install the EGR valve bolts.
- Install the manifold absolute pressure (MAP) sensor bracket and bolt.
- Install the MAP sensor (1, 2).
- Install the MAP sensor bolts (1).
- Install the MAP sensor electrical connector.
- Install the vacuum lines to the upper intake manifold.
- Install the throttle cable bracket.
- Install the throttle cable bracket bolts.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

Tighten the upper intake manifold bolts and studs
to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).
Tighten
Tighten the EGR valve pipe bolt to 25 N·m
(18 lb ft).
Tighten
Tighten the EGR valve bolts to 25 N·m
(18 lb ft).
Tighten
Tighten the MAP sensor bracket bolt to 25 N·m
(18 lb ft).
Tighten
Tighten the MAP sensor bolts to 5 N·m
(44 lb in).
Tighten
Tighten the throttle cable bracket bolts to 13 N·m
(115 lb in).
