Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 1844042 Size: SH
  1. Open the hood.
  2. Remove the air cleaner outlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement.
  3. Disconnect the secondary air injection (AIR) feed tube quick connect fitting (1) from the AIR shutoff/check valve. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service.
  4. Remove the AIR feed tube bolt (3) from the heater inlet/outlet pipe bracket.
  5. Disconnect the AIR feed tube quick connect fitting (2) from the AIR pump. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service.
  6. Remove the AIR feed tube from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1844042 Size: SH
  1. Open the hood.
  2. Position and connect the AIR feed tube quick connect fitting (1) to the AIR shutoff/check valve. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service.
  3. Connect the AIR feed tube quick connect fitting (2) to the AIR pump. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service.

    4. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  4. Install the AIR feed tube bolt (3) to the heater inlet/outlet pipe bracket.

    5. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  5. Install the air cleaner outlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement.
