Removal Procedure
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
- Disconnect the left knock sensor electrical connector (1).
- Loosen and remove the knock sensor.
Installation Procedure
- Install and tighten the knock sensor.
- Connect the left knock sensor electrical connector (1).
- Lower the vehicle.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.
Important: DO NOT apply thread sealant to the sensor threads. The sensor threads are coated at the factory. Applying additional sealant affects the sensors ability to detect detonation.
Tighten
Tighten the sensor to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).
