Makes 🢒 Chevrolet 🢒 2005 🢒 Optra 🢒 Transmission/Transaxle 🢒 Automatic Transmission - ZF 4HP 16 🢒 Range Selector Lever Cable Adjustment

    Important: Match the shift control lever correctly with the selector lever connection. Place the shift control lever in the Park position and verify that the lever is all the way forward. If not, proceed with the following adjustment.

  1. Remove the battery and the battery tray. Refer to Battery and Battery Tray Replacement in Engine Electrical.
  2. Remove the floor console. Refer to Front Floor Console Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.

    3. Object Number: 1255922 Size: SH
  3. Place the shift control lever in the Park position.
  4. Loosen the pinch bolt nut on the shift control lever.

    5. Object Number: 1290878 Size: SH
  5. Place the selector lever connection all the way forward on the transaxle case.
  6. Tightly insert the shift control cable into the shift control lever.

    7. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  7. Secure the pinch bolt and nut to the cable.

    8. Tighten
    Tighten the nut to 8 N·m (71 lb in)

  8. Install the floor console.
  9. Install the battery and the battery tray. Refer to Battery and Battery Tray Replacement in Engine Electrical.
